Town History wins award for W.H.S.

The Westminster Historical Society has won the Publications/Oral History Award of Merit from the Vermont Historical Society for the new Town History. This beautiful hardcover makes an enduring gift.

WESTMINSTER VERMONT 1735-2000: Township Number One, written by Jessie Haas, resident and author of more than 30 books for young people, leads you through the trials of early settlement, the Westminster massacre which was the first blood of the Revolution, the birth of Vermont, the involvement in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, and those beyond. Governor Peter Shumlin wrote the foreword.

The book is hardcover with 574 pages and 89 illustrations. It is available at the Westminster Historical Museum, Butterfield Library, Westminster West Library and the town clerk's office.
